Trailer training You are licenced to tow small trailers up to 750kgs gross weight, (that's a camping trailer or small caravan) or drive a vehicle and trailer combination with a total gross weight of up to 3500kgs, (that's equivalent to a large family saloon, or 4X4, towing a medium-sized caravan or horsebox). If your vehicle and trailer combined gross weight is greater than 3500kgs (mini diggers, horse boxes, car transporters etc.), you'll need B+E entitlement on your driving licence
