Counselling in Crawley - Anxiety - Bereavement - Trauma - Personal/Work issues - Personal Growth
Welcome,
BACP accredited counsellor, with over twenty years experience, offering safe, supportive space for you to talk about what you need and be heard. I am experienced in working in many styles of counselling including cognitive behavioural therapy, integrative counselling, solution focused, mindfulness, acceptance and commitment therapy, and will draw on these if they may be helpful to you.
Perhaps you need to speak about living through these current times. Perhaps it is something else you are needing support with. Do you need support with workplace/personal issues, a bereavement, a life transition e.g. beginning a new relationship, changing jobs, a change in health etc.. Perhaps support is needed for personal growth. Are there addictive/unhelpful behaviours and beliefs that you would like to change. Is there something from your past that is unresolved........... If so counselling can help.
Counselling aims to support you as you begin to come to terms with the unchangeable. Counselling supports you as you discover changes you can make, and that you want to make. Counselling supports you in putting these changes into practise in a way that these changes are sustained.
Being heard in counselling can help you come to a deeper understanding of yourself and of what matters
The quality of the relationship you and your counsellor create together (known as the therapeutic alliance) plays an important part in any change. Our first meeting together will give you a sense of how you feel working with me. Each person is different, so at our first meeting I will listen to your counselling needs, and this will inform how we may work together. This can change over time as your needs change and as you progress.
If after our first meeting we agree to continue working together, we will meet usually on a weekly basis. Keeping this sense of continuity is helpful to the counselling. However there is some flexibility to fit around work/family commitments. Each counselling session will last 50 minutes.
Counselling can be time limited or open ended
